To qualify for an Equipment Operator, your qualifications must include:
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-05 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 04 level. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may also include:
providing automated publishing, Receives, prepares and processes documents for archiving and retrieval via a web based document storage system, Inputs commands into a computer system to initiate processes that convert data streams into formatted documents in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) format, and Performs precursory review of various forms for scan-ability to include preparing the documents to meet scanning equipment specifications, sorting out documents in bad condition, and separating documents types to process using the appropriate indexing templates. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
